Welcome

Yes, I’m still going with the “Nonsense” brand. I’ve certainly grown attached to it.

What is this?

A blog where you’re going to see ramblings about everything, coming from a humble man who got tired of chasing the social media carrot after spinning in the hamster wheel for a decade. With no constraints and no specific directions, the words will flow like a river on its path into the ocean. The ocean of my favorite format of content.

Walls of text.

Yes, my friends, you are going to see words piling upon other words with no end in sight. If you are allergic to long-running texts, then this is the point where I sincerely wish you the best in your eternal search for other pleasures, because you are not my audience. Thanks for paying a visit though. To everyone else: Welcome! It might be just another blog among millions of others on the internet, but this is the one that’s written by me. Might sound egocentrical, but that’s the entire point. You’re here to dive into my point of view on things that I find interesting. Speaking of which…

What is this blog about?

Anything. Whatever’s powerful enough to push that switch of inspiration inside of my brain can become a topic. There’s an enormous amount of blogs and podcasts dedicated to specific topics, and while I respect them as much as anyone else, it’s not really my thing. It took me too long to realize that. But now we’re here, and I feel more confident about this compared to everything I tried before. But even with that in mind, you might guess that this blog is going to be mostly about stuff that I like, right? Well…

Imagine this. You’re on a grass hill, the sun is shining nicely, the birds are chirping in the distance, and there’s a light breeze that makes the sunflower field nearby shake very, very slightly, as if bowing to the blessings of the nice weather. You’re not bothered by anything, you’re just taking a stroll as the wind brushes your cheeks. With every step it becomes more and more clear to you that sometimes these short moments of happiness in life can appear from basically nothing. Feeling proud of understanding such a simple, yet important thing, you keep strolling forward, your mind as cloudless as the sky above your head.

Now imagine a big city. The night has just begun, and you’re surrounded by the colorful lights from tall, modern buildings that seem to stretch far down the streets, inviting you into a neverending trip. A trip full of discoveries. Full of opportunities. This is where big people make big money, and then lose it in no time. You walk down the street, noticing how store signs compete in who shines the brightest. Gigantic letters tell you all about the sales, discounts - do they ever end? When did they even begin? Has there ever been a time with no sales, no discounts? This thought doesn’t seem to stay with you for too long - you hear some very loud music coming out of a passing car. The people inside look like they have lots of fun, and are eager to spread it around. They probably don’t have to go to work tomorrow. Or ever. But it doesn’t bother you, because this is your night. After another turn, you see it. A skyscraper. How many years does it take to build one? How many people? Are they not afraid of such heights? Surely, some of them had to work up there, witnessing a mesmerizing view almost every day. You almost envy them, soon realizing that you probably would be scared to death. Still, this is your night. Your and no one else’s. You’re about to go inside that skyscraper, take an elevator up to a floor with a number you could never imagine seeing on an elevator screen, enter a room at the very end of the corridor, and meet with Him. You will proceed to talk to Him for an unpredictable amount of time, and let Him decide your future. Will you be able to convince Him that you are worthy of going up the career ladder? No, the career elevator! You could possibly go higher than the top floor of this skyscraper. Yes. A penthouse. Wouldn’t it be nice to own one? With this hopeful feeling, you open the door.

And now imagine a beach. It’s a very hot day, but the ocean feels so refreshing and calming. Lots of people around are bathing their skin under the sun, and the kids are having fun building their sandcastles. As you walk closer to the water, you realize that you somehow didn’t notice all of the clouds right over your head - they’re dark and frightening. A chill breeze turns into a powerful wind, and you witness a giant wave approaching the coast. You can hear the screams behind your back, but you pay them no mind - the view is just too fascinating. A couple of seconds later, a voice from behind calls for you, and the reality hits - your life is in danger, and you must run. As you try to turn around and see who was calling for you, you realize that you… can’t? The view of the incoming wave was so captivating, it made you freeze in place. Wait, “freeze”? You try to move your hands, your legs, something else, something, come on! But nothing happens. The wave gets closer. The voices from behind have disappeared. Now it’s only you and the unstoppable force of nature. You feel like you’re stuck in a weird nightmare, or a twisted story controlled by an unhinged narrator. As the size of the wave covers your entire vision, you come to terms with your fate. There’s nothing left to think about. Mere seconds away from the impact, you realize that there is one part of you that still can move. And so you smile. The music of the water reaches the peak of its loudness. The vision goes black. The narration ends.

Something I enjoy. Something I analyze. Something that worries me. It’s all gonna be here, in this blog. What you’ve read just now was only an example. My personal “lorem ipsum”, you could say. Don’t try to search for a deep meaning there. Or maybe do. Who am I to stop you?

What’s with the 2010 look?

Simple is best. It also reminds me of The Good Times, when everything was simple and responsive. Maybe at some point I’ll change it to something else that’s equally minimalistic, but for now you’re gonna look at the default stuff. Use Dark Reader plugin if you want dark mode.

Are you going to disappear from [place name]?

No. This is purely for walls of text. And maybe some dumb personal projects.

Who should I blame/thank for this?

Like a dozen of people wanted this to exist. So now it finally exists! Special thanks to incredibly wonderful j for proofreading the mess above. But don’t expect that in my future posts. From now it’s all me. Probably.

Have a nice whatever you’re having.
